State Senator Romaine Quinn | Wisconsin State Legislature
Senator Romaine Robert Quinn, representing the 25th Senate District, played a pivotal role in advocating for the protection of Wisconsin children through the passage of significant legislative measures.
Quinn's commitment to safeguarding students was reflected in his support for the funding of the Office of School Safety (OSS) until the fall of 2025. "The Office of School Safety provides an important and essential tool to prevent threats in our schools," Quinn emphasized. He further explained that the bill ensures the continuity of OSS services until a long-term funding solution can be established.
Additionally, Quinn championed Assembly Bill 377, known as the "Protecting Women in Sports Act," which aims to maintain gender-specific sports categories at the high school level based on biological sex. Quinn highlighted the importance of equal opportunities in school athletics, stating, "The bill seeks to ensure that all athletes have equal opportunity to participate in school athletics."
Furthermore, the Senator supported Assembly Bill 940, which focuses on creating grants to bolster services for sexual assault victims, survivors of domestic abuse, and child advocacy centers. Quinn recognized the significance of this bill by stating, "Additional funding provided in the bill will continue the crucial work that child advocacy centers do to combat child abuse and neglect."
All the aforementioned bills, including those related to school safety, gender-specific sports categories, and support for abuse victims, have successfully passed in both the State Senate and Assembly. These bills are now awaiting the decision of Governor Evers to be signed into law.
The efforts of Senator Romaine Robert Quinn in advocating for the protection of children and supporting victims of abuse through these legislative measures are commendable and reflect his dedication to the well-being of the community.
