FOIA Request Sent to Rusk County Regarding Vendor Payments in 2024 on September 26, 2024

FOIA Request to Rusk County Regarding Vendor Payments in 2024 on September 26, 2024.

As part of our ongoing commitment to transparency and accountability in local government, we at Northwoods Reporter have sent a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to Rusk County. The request was made under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., and seeks detailed information about county vendor payments from January 1, 2024, through September 26, 2024.

Specifically, we are seeking a list of all payments made to vendors during this period. The requested data includes the name of each vendor, the date of each transaction, a description of each transaction, and the amount paid in each transaction.

Access to these public records is essential for us at Northwoods Reporter as it allows us to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs. It also enables us to hold public institutions accountable and ensure transparency for the public.

We believe that as members of the media involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, we are eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals. We eagerly await Rusk County's response to our request so that we can continue our mission of informing our readers about important local government activities.
