FOIA Request to Village of Milltown Regarding New Voter Registrations on November 7, 2024.
In our ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Northwoods Reporter have sent a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the Village of Milltown. The request, made under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., specifically seeks a list of new voters who registered to vote on November 5, 2024.
As an organization dedicated to holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public, access to such records is essential for us. This information will enable us to further scrutinize and report on local election processes and their integrity.
We have requested that these records be provided in an electronic format for ease of analysis and dissemination. Given our role as a media organization involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as per standard practice.
