Bayfield School District Education: 426 students were enrolled in schools in 2022-23 school year

There were 426 students enrolled in Bayfield School District schools in the 2022-23 school year, 7.3% more than the previous year, according to the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 52.6% of them were boys, and 47.4% were girls.

Data also shows that most of the students were American Indian, accounting for 69.3% of the Bayfield School District total enrollment.

Bayfield School District covers four schools within Bayfield County, with its main office in Bayfield.

Among the four schools in the Bayfield School District, Bayfield Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 206 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Nearly 830,000 students were enrolled in Wisconsin schools in the 2021-22 school year. This is a 0.85% decrease from the year before. In sharp contrast to declining public school figures, enrollment in charter schools rose 4.5% to more than 52,000.

In 2022, there was roughly one teacher for every 14 students in a Wisconsin classroom, compared to the national average of 1:16. AAA State of Play considered Wisconsin to have the 14th best teacher to student ratio in the U.S.
