FOIA Request to Town of Gordon Regarding New Voter Registrations on November 7, 2024.
As part of our ongoing commitment to transparency and accountability in local government affairs, we at Northwoods Reporter have submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the Town of Gordon. The request, sent on November 7, 2024, seeks access to public records detailing new voter registrations that occurred on November 5, 2024.
Our team believes that access to these records is essential for comprehensive and accurate news coverage. As a media organization, it is our duty to hold public institutions accountable and provide transparency for the public. This can only be achieved through access to such crucial information.
The FOIA request has been made under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., and we have requested that the information be provided in an electronic format for ease of dissemination.
We also believe that as a media organization involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, we are eligible for a fee waiver. We will continue to follow up on this request and report any updates as they become available.
