FOIA Request to Town of Balsam Lake Regarding New Voter Registrations on November 7, 2024.
In our continuous effort to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Northwoods Reporter have submitted a request under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., for a list of new voters who registered on November 5, 2024.
As a media organization, access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. These include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. We believe that by accessing and disseminating this information, we can further contribute to the democratic process and keep our community informed.
We are awaiting a response from the Town of Balsam Lake's clerk office regarding this request. As always, we will continue to report on these matters as more information becomes available.
