FOIA Request to Village Of Clear Lake Regarding New Voter Registrations on November 7, 2024.
In our continuous efforts to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Northwoods Reporter have sent a request under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., to the Village Of Clear Lake. Our request specifically seeks a list of new voters who registered to vote on November 5, 2024.
As a media organization, we believe in the importance of holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. Access to such public records is essential for us to fulfill these professional responsibilities.
We are hopeful that our request will be met favorably considering our role in disseminating information as media professionals. We believe this makes us eligible for a fee waiver for this request.
