FOIA Request to Village of Conrath Regarding New Voter Registrations on November 7, 2024.
In our ongoing efforts to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Northwoods Reporter have submitted a request under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., for records of new voter registrations that occurred on November 5, 2024.
As a media organization committed to holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public, access to these public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. We have requested these records preferably in electronic format for ease of analysis and reporting.
We believe that as members of the media involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, we are eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals. This would enable us to continue our work in disseminating information without financial hindrance.
