City of Washburn issued the following announcement on June 12
The Thompson's West End Boat Ramp Project started yesterday. This $660,000 project will repair portion of the bulkhead around the ramp and replace the docks, and a DNR Recreational Boating Grant will fund $254,198.50 of the project. The project got a late start because the DNR permit required an archaeological survey to be conducted and accepted of the area first. Unfortunately, we (the City) were unable to get that survey conducted in the fall of 2019 before ice. We expect it will be at least a month before the ramp will be usable again.
