Invasive/Native Plant Field Day on October 9

Town of Union recently issued the following announcement.

INVASIVE/NATIVE PLANT FIELD DAY

Saturday, October 9th, 2021 | 3:00 pm - 5:30 pm

You are invited to attend our 2nd Invasive and Native Field day, hosted by

the Town of Union Park Commission! Staff from the Lower Chippewa

Invasives Partnership, Inc. and Landmark Conservancy will be our guides.

Learn how to identify invasive common buckthorn and get hands-on

experience with proper techniques as you help remove it from the

Conservancy forest. You'll also get to hike on the trails, with stops along

the way to learn tips of how to identify native trees. Approximate hike

distance 1.5 miles. Bring gloves and dress appropriately for the weather

with sturdy shoes. Tools will be provided, but bring your own if you wish
