Transportation and Logistics Management major receives CII scholarship

31

Bayfield County issued the following announcement on Dec. 8

Brandon Conklin, a junior Transportation and Logistics Management major, was recently awarded a scholarship from the Containerization & Intermodal Institute (CII).

CII extended the opportunity for a UW-Superior student to receive a scholarship after learning about the university, its Transportation and Logistics Management and Supply Chain Management programs, and meeting a group of UW-Superior students at the Intermodal Association of North America (IANA) EXPO this fall.

CII has awarded an estimated $1 million in scholarships to promising logistics students since 1992. Funds for the scholarships are donated by companies who hire and work in the industry, as well as individuals and foundations that recognize the value of outstanding education in the field.

Conklin was selected based on his GPA, involvement with containerization and intermodal learning outside of the classroom and recommendation from UW-Superior faculty.

Conklin is active in the TLM Student Club and will become its vice president in 2022. He attended the IANA EXPO in Long Beach, Cal., in September 2021, and is on the UW-Superior men’s soccer team.
