Who is Ready for Halloween?  

For many years we have celebrated Washburn Zombie Days in October. This event was created to honor the late Tony Woiak and his contributions to the community, including his Zombie Movie, that was filmed here in Washburn. Over the years there have been parties, parades, races and more. Unfortunately, interest in the 3 day event started to dwindle and though we tried hard to see it through COVID by doing virtual scavenger hunts and drive in movies we heard from a lot of businesses & community members that they wanted something new and different. Taking these conversations into account we are excited to announce that we are doing something different for 2022 and beyond.

Introducing Washburn Halloween Town!

Halloween Town will be a month long event that has a broader focus on all things Halloween. There will be decorations, live music and events. Some old favorites will return like the parade and pumpkin carving contest, and some new things will join the mix like the Hunted Under Club and Trunk-or-Treat. We are not getting rid of zombies, they will just be folded in so that we have a better mix of things for all ages. We also plan to dedicate a whole day during the month to Tony & the zombies in order to keep with the original intent, and to honor those who grew this event over the years.

As luck would have it April 30th is the half way point to Halloween and that can only mean one thing... We are putting together a new event to celebrate and raise some funds for Octobers event.

Let's Celebrate 1/2 Way to Halloween Town this weekend!

 Things kick off on Thursday April 28th- Thursday Night Trivia at ScareCrow Pizza is BACK! Join in with trivia on all things Halloween & Horror to celebrate being halfway to Halloween and to learn more about Washburn's upcoming Halloween Town events for Oct. Use your noodle, not your google! Teams will compete for gift certificate prizes and the ever coveted bragging rights. Trivia starts at 6:30 so be there a little early to get your team registered.

 Friday April 29th- Long Gone will be playing live at ScareCrow pizza for a scary good time from 6:30-9pm.

 Saturday April 30th-

*Sneak Peek of the new Haunted Under Club. This will take place at The Club starting at 1pm. By invitation only.

*Walpurgisnacht Party - Come eat, drink & dance in celebration of Walpurgisnacht, also known as Night of the Witches. Celebrate the official half way point to Halloween with outdoor music, drums and dancing at ScareCrow Pizza. Enjoy a fine brew, cider or wine outside, while taking part in other creepy entertainment. Various music and performers TBA. This fundraiser for the 2022 Haunted Under Club starts at 6:30pm. Bring your drum and join the drum circle!
