The Iron County Republican Party has announced its endorsement of Phil Lyman for the position of governor. Lyman emerged victorious at the Utah Republican State Convention, securing 67.54% support from locally elected State Delegates. This achievement designates him as the Republican Party Nominee in accordance with both County and State Party Bylaws.

Phil Lyman's tenure in the Utah House of Representatives has been marked by a dedication to serving the citizens of Utah. His opposition to increasing the grocery tax during inflationary periods highlights his awareness of economic challenges faced by residents. Additionally, his efforts toward ensuring secure elections are noted as reinforcing trust among voters.

Lyman is also recognized for his opposition to federal interventions on Utah land during President Obama's administration. The subsequent legal prosecution he faced and his pardon by former President Trump underscore his commitment to advocating for Utah’s autonomy.

The party appreciates Lyman's decision to reject financial contributions from special interest groups that might conflict with Utah's family values. They express confidence in his leadership abilities and urge citizens and other county Republican Parties to support his gubernatorial campaign.

Governor Spencer Cox made remarks at the 2024 Republican State Convention suggesting that delegates not supporting him harbor excessive animosity. Only registered State Delegates are eligible to vote at these conventions, which commence credentialing at 7 am.
