Bayfield County's districts student body comprised mostly of white students in 2024-25 school year

The majority of students in Bayfield County districts were white in the 2024-25 school year, according to the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.

Of the 1,456 students attending Bayfield County district schools, 62.7% were white. American Indian students were the second largest ethnic group within Bayfield County's districts, making up 24.5% of the student body.

In the previous school year, white students were also the most common group in Bayfield County districts, representing 64.4% of the student body.

Bayfield School District had the most diverse student body in the county, which included American Indian, Asian, African American, Hispanic, Pacific Islander, multiracial, and white.

In the 2024-25 school year, the total number of students enrolled in school districts in the county dropped to 4.2% compared to the previous year.

The main offices of all districts mentioned in the story are located in cities associated with Bayfield County.
