Tamarack Health recently welcomed Governor Tony Evers and other key leaders to a roundtable discussion and site tour of the Trailview Cottages, a workforce housing development in Hayward. The event took place on June 16. The project aims to address two significant regional needs: affordable housing and job training.

The development is located at the intersection of Highway 77 and Hospital Road. Tamarack Health contributed a 15-acre parcel for the project, demonstrating its commitment to supporting the Hayward community.

Trailview Cottages will offer housing for 40 families, featuring amenities such as attached garages, patios, a fitness center, and a pet wash parlor. In addition to providing homes, the site will include mobile training labs and a Workforce Accelerator classroom operated by Northwood Technical College. Training in various fields like manufacturing, welding, and dental assisting will be available to help residents develop careers.

Heather Sheehan, Chief Operating Officer of Tamarack Health, expressed enthusiasm about the project: “This is an exciting time for Hayward. We’re proud to stand alongside other organizations that love this community and are investing in its future. Trailview Cottages is proof of what’s possible when housing and education work together.”

The $46 million initiative is developed by IMPACT Seven and Northwood Technical College. It receives funding from the HOMES Workforce Innovation Grant and support through WHEDA’s Vacancy-to-Vitality and Infrastructure Access loan programs.

A groundbreaking ceremony is planned for September 2025 with construction expected to be completed by spring 2026.
