Cost of college went up for all students at the University of Wisconsin-Superior

In-state tuition and fees rose 0.2 percent for 2018-19 at the University of Wisconsin-Superior, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Wisconsin residents paid $8,126 to attend the four-year public institution this year – $17 more than the $8,109 charged for 2017-18.

Non-residents paid 93.2 percent more than residents this year, or $15,699. Their price tag grew 0.1 percent from $15,682 in 2017-18.

About 44 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Wisconsin residents. About 42 percent are residents of other states and 14 percent are citizens of other countries.

Data shows 79 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 216 students received grants or scholarships totaling $993,029 and 203 students took out student loans totaling more than $1.3 million.

Including all undergraduates (2,603), 1,274 students used grants or scholarships totaling $6.8 million, and 1,355 students took out $9.5 million in federal student loans.
