About 28 percent of the 549 degrees and certificates handed out by the University of Wisconsin-Superior in 2017-18 were to students in education programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Superior conferred 97 bachelor's degrees and 55 master's degrees in education programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in "other" multi-/interdisciplinary studies. Data shows the school gave out 64 bachelor's degrees in "other" multi-/interdisciplinary studies, followed by 58 bachelor's degrees in elementary education and teaching and 46 bachelor's degrees in general business administration and management.

The university enrolled 2,603 students for 2017-18, including 2,296 in undergraduate programs and 307 in graduate programs.
