FOIA Request to Barron County Regarding Access to FOIA Logs from January to October 2024 on October 7, 2024.
In our ongoing efforts at Northwoods Reporter to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we have submitted a request for public records under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq.
Our request, sent on October 7, 2024, seeks access to the list of Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) logs sent to Barron County from January 1, 2024 till October 7, 2024. The requested records should include the following fields: Requester Name, Requester Organization, Request Content, Request Date, Request Complete Date and FOIA Status.
As a media organization committed to transparency and accountability in public institutions, we believe that access to these records is essential for fulfilling our professional responsibilities. Furthermore, given our role in disseminating information to the public, we have requested a fee waiver as a media professional.
